Ambulatory Phlebectomy / Microphlebectomy
With this leading edge treatment for varicose veins, patients typically report no discomfort and no down time is required.

Vein stripping is no longer necessary. We specialize in the removal of bulging varicose veins by numbing over the surface of the large veins, making tiny incisions over the surface and utilizing specialized tools to remove the veins through the tiny spaces. The incisions are so small that there is no need for stitches or staples. You’ll walk out the same day and return to most normal activities. No discomfort, no down time.

Ambulatory phlebectomy / microphlebectomy is a technique that directly removes varicose veins from the leg. It is very different from traditional vein stripping procedures. The procedure is performed in the office while you are awake.

During the procedure, the overlying skin is numbed. Tiny pinholes are made in the numbed skin where the veins are easily removed using specialized tools. The procedure is often done with EVLT (endovenous laser ablation) to treat the underlying source veins at the same time. The pinholes are small, therefore stitches and staples are not necessary. Once healed, there is usually little to no scarring. You will be able to immediately walk, return to most activities and work.

“ I’m so happy now! All of those awful bulging veins and pain are gone. I’m not embarrassed to show off my legs!”
